Trent Alexander-Arnold marks another impressive Liverpool goal contribution milestone
Trent Alexander-Arnold marks another impressive Liverpool goal contribution milestone. Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold racked up his 100th goal involvement for Liverpool with an assist in their 3-0 victory over Bournemouth last Saturday afternoon.
The 25-year-old known for his impressive attacking prowess from right-back, creating many goal scoring opportunities for his Reds teammates previously under Jurgen Klopp, and now with new manager Arne Slot.
Alexander-Arnold became the defender with the most assists in Premier League history earlier this year when a corner of his was headed in by Diogo Jota in a 3-1 victory over Burnley in February.
That took him above teammate Andy Robertson in the assist charts, but the Liverpool’s most recent win has now helped the England international in achieving yet another impressive feat.
The Premier League and Champions League winner now has 100 goal involvements for Liverpool since making his debut, having set up Luis Diaz‘s second goal during Saturday clash with a determined run to the edge of the box before the Colombian finished.
He brought the milestone up on his 316th game for his boyhood club, with only Steven Gerrard (92) and Mohamed Salah (72) registering more assists in the Premier League for the Reds.
Alongside his 81 assists, Alexander-Arnold also has 19 goals to his name, with his best scoring seasons coming in 2019/20 and 2022/23, netting four times respectively. However, he is yet to hit the back of the net this term, but has also contributed immensely in instead helping the Reds win four of their opening five league games.
Alexander-Arnold became a scapegoat for criticism during England’s run to the 2024 final, having been deployed in central midfield by Gareth Southgate after impressing there under Jurgen Klopp.
However, he has returned to his more familiar right-back position at the start of 2024/25, conjuring up his trademark deliveries from out wide to dangerous effect.
He could well be in action again when Liverpool play next, as they begin their Carabao Cup title defence on Wednesday night at Anfield, when they welcome West Ham United.
