Roberto Mancini part ways with Saudi Football Federation
Roberto Mancini part ways with Saudi Football Federation. Saudi Arabia Football Federation (SAFF) in a new statement has confirmed that it has parted ways with the national team head coach Roberto Mancini after just 14 months in charge.
SAFF revealed that it has reached a mutual agreement with the Italian manager to terminate his contract after he signed a lucrative deal which runs until 2027 back in August 2023.
The federation’s board expressed gratitude to Mancini for his contributions and wished him success in his future endeavours.
During his tenure, he led the team in the Asian Cup 2023 held in Doha in January, where Saudi Arabia was eliminated in the Round of 16. Mancini oversaw a challenging start to the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, securing only one victory against China while facing losses to Japan and draws against Indonesia and Bahrain at home in Jeddah.
The board indicated that an announcement will be made in the coming days, after completing the official contractual procedures.
