Premier League clubs learn PSR fate after 2023/24 season. The Premier League has not charged any clubs with breaches of Profit and Sustainability Rules for the 2023/24 season.
However, the introduction of new financial regulations has raised serious concerns for several clubs in England’s top flight. Last season, Everton and Nottingham Forest faced points deductions for failing to comply with the rules, prompting many teams to significantly alter their transfer strategies to avoid potential sanctions.
The likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Newcastle United were all thought to be at risk of breaches over the 2023/24 campaign but, as first revealed by The Times, all 20 sides have avoided charges.
However, Leicester City remain in a legal battle with the Premier League over sanctions related to the 2022/23 season.
“Issues as to the jurisdiction of the Premier League over Leicester City Football Club in relation to PSR [Profitability and Sustainability Rules] compliance are currently the subject of confidential arbitration proceedings,” a league statement read.
“Accordingly, neither the league nor the club will make any further comment at this stage about any aspect of the club’s compliance or otherwise with any of the PSR or related rules, save to say that no complaint has been brought against Leicester by the league for any breach of the PSRs for the period ending Season 2023/24.”
