Man Utd confirm Ruben Amorim’s coaching staff.
Man Utd confirm Ruben Amorim’s coaching staff. Manchester United have confirmed the coaching staff who will join the club under new head coach, Ruben Amorim.
Amorim has arrived to replace Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford, revealing his ambitions in his first media interviews with the club this week.
The 39-year-old has already laid down the law for the Red Devils’ youngsters by urging them not shirk their responsibilities, but the coaching staff he will lean on to get the most out of an underperforming squad has now been finalised.
Amorim will be joined at Carrington by Carlos Fernandes, Jorge Vital, Adelio Candido, Emanuel Ferro and Paulo Barreira, all of whom he worked with at former club Sporting CP.
A statement reads:
“Manchester United can now confirm the arrival of five coaches that join the club as part of Ruben Amorim’s backroom team.
“Carlos Fernandes, Jorge Vital, Adelio Candido, Emanuel Ferro and Paulo Barreira have all made the move from Sporting to United with our new head coach, who began work in Manchester earlier this week.
“The quintet join a set-up that already includes first-team coaches Darren Fletcher and Andreas Georgson, plus assistant first-team goalkeeper coach Craig Mawson.”
One figure who will not play a part in proceedings at United moving forward, is Ruud van Nistelrooy. The legendary Dutch striker’s exit was confirmed after his spell as interim boss came to an end, having led the side to three wins and a draw from four matches.
Amorim has been boosted in the first few days of his reign by Bruno Fernandes’ early return from Portugal duty, with suspension rendering him unavailable for their clash with Croatia on Monday.
