Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has addressed the swirling speculation linking him with a move to Saudi Arabia, stating emphatically that he has not spoken to anyone about a transfer.*
In a statement to the press, De Bruyne said, “I haven’t spoken to anyone. There’s been a lot of noise and news,” adding, “I said in the summer I expect a quiet summer and that’s what happened.”
The Belgian star, who has been enjoying his summer break, returned to training with City this week and made it clear that he’s focused on the season ahead. “I’ve been on holiday, came back, started training. That’s it. Nothing else.”
De Bruyne’s comments put to rest the rumors that had been circulating in recent weeks, suggesting he could be tempted by a lucrative offer from a Saudi Arabian club. With the transfer window nearing its close, his statement appears to confirm his commitment to City for the foreseeable future.
