Chelsea offered chance to re-sign ex-academy graduate
Chelsea offered chance to re-sign ex-academy graduate. Chelsea have reportedly been offered the chance to re-sign centre-back Fikayo Tomori from AC Milan.
Tomori came through the Chelsea ranks but was ultimately shipped off in January 2021 after falling out of favour under then manager Frank Lampard, and he also played an integral role in Milan’s Serie A triumph the following season.
Tomori has fallen out of the starting lineup, receiving just 13 minutes of action in Paulo Fonseca’s final ten Serie A games in charge. It remains to be seen if new manager Sergio Conceição will welcome back the Englishman to the starting XI.
Amid uncertainty over his future, Juventus have been heavily linked with a move for the defender, while Sky Sports Switzerland has also reported a surprising proposal for the defender to return to Chelsea.
Chelsea are reportedly looking to strengthen their defence this month and have been offered the chance to re-sign Tomori, who made 27 appearances during his brief spell in the first team at Stamford Bridge. However, the club is not currently pursuing the move and would only consider it if Axel Disasi leaves.
Disasi has faced significant criticism following a string of poor performances and has recently been linked with a move to Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen, with Juventus also emerging as potential suitors for the Frenchman.
