Chelsea Football Club are known for their close links with the fashion world, with the club not disappointing with their kit designs over the years. Known for their exceptional and astonishing kit designs, Chelsea sure knows how to cut their onions, when it comes to beautiful and awesome kit designs – Chelsea kits Ranked 1997-2024.
Their simple navy blue home kits have always had a classy quality to them, with the likes of Umbro, Le Coq Sportif, Adidas and Nike all taking up the mantle of designer over the years, with varying degrees of success.
Here, we rank the top Chelsea kits from 1997 season to 2024 season:
1. Chelsea 2001 & 2002 Home Kit
Having been worn by the likes of Frank Lampard, Eidur Gudjohnsen, John Terry, Gianfranco Zola, Marcel Desailly and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, the Umbro designed kit used for the 2001 & 2002 season, takes up our 1st spot on the list.
2. Chelsea 1997 & 1998 Home Kit
Worn by the likes of Ruud Gullit, Gianluca Vialli, Frank Sinclair, Gianfranco Zola, Dan Petrescu and Mark Hughes, the iconic 1997 & 1998 home kit, takes up our 2nd spot in the list.
3. Chelsea 2006 & 2007 Home Kit
Worn by the likes of Didier Drogba, Arjen Robben, Frank Lampard, Andriy Shevchenko, Michael Ballack and Claude Makélélé, the Adidas designed kit served as the Blues 2006 & 2007 home kit, and takes up our 3rd spot on the list.
4. Chelsea 1999 & 2000 Home Kit
Taking the 4th spot, is the iconic 1999 & 2000 home kit. Worn by the likes of Eidur Gudjohnsen, John Terry, Gianfranco Zola, Marcel Desailly, Albert Ferrer and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.
5. Chelsea 2012 Home Kit
The Chelsea home kit for the 2012/2013 season, takes up the 5th spot. The 2012/2013 season was Chelsea’s 99th competitive season, and 24th consecutively. The Blues would go on to adorn a gold strip home kit for the season, and was Worn by the likes of Eden Hazard, Fernando Torres, Frank Lampard, Ashley Cole, David Luiz and John Terry.
6. Chelsea 2003 & 2004 Home Kit
The Chelsea 2003 and 2004 home kit, takes up the number 6th spot on our list. The likes of Frank Lampard, Hernán Crespo, Claude Makélélé, Juan Sebastián Verón, Eidur Gudjohnsen and John Terry all adorned the beautiful kit, while playing for the Blues.
7. Chelsea 2009 Home Kit
Taking up the 7th spot on our list is the 2009 home kit. Worn by the likes of Didier Drogba, Frank Lampard, Michael Ballack, Nicolas Anelka, Deco and Ashley Cole.
8. Chelsea 2005 Home Kit
Worn by the likes of Didier Drogba, Arjen Robben, Frank Lampard, Hernán Crespo, Claude Makélélé and Eidur Gudjohnsen, the 2005 home kit takes up the 8th spot.
9. Chelsea 2011 Home Kit
Chelsea lifted their first ever Champions League trophy wearing this beautiful kit, of course, it would be stuck with their fans forever, the 2011/2012 home kit was worn by the likes of Fernando Torres, Didier Drogba, Romelu Lukaku, Frank Lampard, Nicolas Anelka and Ashley Cole. Having it’s own history with the club, the 2011 kit sits 9th on our ranking list.
10. Chelsea 2010 Home Kit
Taking up the 10th spot, is the famous 2010/2011 home kit. Chelsea’s Premier League and FA cup double winning side, decided to opt for a simple, yet unique design for your 2010 campaign.
11. Chelsea 2008 Home Kit
Picking up the 11th spot, is the 2008 home kit. Worn by some of the Blues legends, such as of Didier Drogba, Frank Lampard, Michael Ballack, Nicolas Anelka, and Ashley Cole.
12. Chelsea 2014 Home Kit
The 2014/2015 home kit, takes home the 12th spot on the ranking list. Worn by the likes of Cesc Fabregas, who undoubtedly, had he best ever season in Chelsea colours, and also Didier Drogba, for his second stint at the club, which end with yet another Premier League trophy.
13. Chelsea 2015 Home Kit
The Chelsea home kit for the 2015/2016 season, takes up the number 13th spot on the ranking list.
14. Chelsea 2013 Home Kit
Taking up the 14th spot, is the 2013/2014 Chelsea home kit. Worn by the likes of Fernando Torres, Eden Hazard, Oscar and Mata. The kit is up there as one of Chelsea’s best footballing kit.
15. Chelsea 2019 Home Kit
One of, if not the best Chelsea and Nike partnership design. A very beautiful and classic kit, with nice and great finishing touches. The 2019/2020 home kit takes up the 15th spot on the list.
16. Chelsea 2017 Home Kit
Up there as one of Chelsea’s best plain kit, minimal designs, yet a very classic and beautiful kit. The 2017 home kit, takes the number 16th spot.
17. Chelsea 2016 Home Kit
The Chelsea home kit for the 2016/2017 campaign, takes up the number 17th position on the ranking list.
18. Chelsea 2024 Home Kit
Taking up the 18th spot, is the new 2024/2025 home kit. Not many were convinced of the new kit when the teasers first popped, but with the full kit been unveiled, it wasted no time in becoming fans favorite, and Enzo Maresca‘s side have started the new campaign in fine form, why adorning this beautiful kit.
19. Chelsea 2023 Home Kit
19th on the list is the 2023/2024 season home kit. With flashes of young Cole Palmer lighting up the Premier League on his debut season after joining Chelsea from Manchester City.
20. Chelsea 2022 Home Kit
Taking up the 20th spot, is the 2022/2023 home kit. The first kit released under the new Todd Boehly led consortium era. A very simple design with collar.
21. Chelsea 2018 Home Kit
Also on the list is the 2018 home kit, and it takes up the number 21st spot. One of my favourites, as it does reminds of the days of Eden Hazard, lighting up the bridge with his magics. Surely, you think about the 2018/2019 home kit, you think about Eden! 🙂
22. Chelsea 2020 Home Kit
The 2020 Champions League winning home kit, takes up the number 22 spot on our ranking list. Simple, yet unique though, not many people were a fan of the design.
23. Chelsea 2021 Home Kit
Taking up the last spot on our list, is the 2021 home kit. The kit didn’t really get the buzz that usually comes with Chelsea unveiling a new kit, as it was evident that many of their fans, were disappointed by the design choice – Chelsea kits Ranked 1997-2024.
